Safety Guide
Before traveling with someone, complete these safety checks to make every trip feel more secure.
Before You Go: Profile & Info Check
Check if the other person’s profile is complete (bio, travel style, languages).
Confirm basics in messages: dates, destination, budget range, accommodation preferences, and pace.
Be cautious if they avoid basic questions or keep pushing for private contact or transfers.
Confirm important details in writing and keep records for reference.
Communication: Align First, Travel Second
Agree on must-see / no-go items to avoid conflicts during the trip.
Discuss how you’ll split costs: transport, lodging, tickets, meals, shared purchases.
Respect boundaries: schedule, drinking, photography, interaction frequency, personal space.
Either person can end the plan if they feel uncomfortable or unsafe.
First Meetup: Public Place + Share Your Itinerary
Meet in a public, busy place during daytime (cafés, station halls, etc.).
Avoid going to someone’s accommodation or secluded places on the first meetup.
Share itinerary and emergency contacts with someone you trust.
Keep your phone charged; consider location sharing or check-in habits.
Money & Scams: No Prepay, No Middleman
Avoid sending money in advance or acting as a buyer/collector before trust is established.
Stay alert for unusual requests like “investment / exchange / booking on my behalf.”
For deposits or large expenses, use traceable payment methods and keep receipts.
What if there’s an emergency?
If there’s immediate danger, contact local emergency services and nearby police/medical support first.
After you’re safe, keep evidence (messages, receipts, photos, time and location).
